In what experts are calling the most dramatic 4.2 seconds in AP Chemistry history, junior Nona Brozell, widely known for her impeccable manners and color-coded notes, reportedly shook her teacher, Sarah Prestwood, the high school Chemistry and AP Chemistry teacher, after receiving yet another questionable grade.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred during E period in AP Chemistry when graded tests were being returned.
“Everything felt normal: there was quiet panic and people whispering, ‘Wait, what did you get for number 5?’” junior Kayden Ge, a fellow student in the E period AP Chemistry class, said. “It was just like usual, and then it happened.”
Brozell, who has a long-standing reputation for getting mysteriously low grades despite studying like it’s her full-time job, allegedly stared at her test for several seconds before slowly standing up.
“She didn’t even sigh,” Ge said. “That’s when I knew something was wrong.”
Brozell then walked to the front of the room and placed her test on Prestwood’s desk. Without saying a single word, she walked toward Prestwood with both of her hands straight out. She then firmly grabbed both of Prestwood’s shoulders and violently shook her.
“As she was walking, she looked like a zombie,” Ge said.
The room reportedly fell completely silent.
“I thought we were about to witness a full breakdown,” Ge said. “But then she just stopped.”
After the brief shake, Brozell calmly turned around, walked back to her seat, picked up her pencil, and resumed working on the warm-up as if nothing had happened.
No words were exchanged.
Prestwood, visibly stunned, paused for approximately six seconds before continuing the lesson.
“Anyway, as I was saying, the equilibrium constant…” Prestwood said.
Sources described this as the most emotionally complex episode in universal teaching history.
Later, Prestwood was asked to comment.
“Sometimes Le Châtelier’s Principle applies to people too,” Prestwood said.
In what sources are calling a possibly coincidental follow-up event, Prestwood later encountered a series of setbacks during her bike ride home, including a mysteriously deflated tire, a slightly lowered seat, one brake working too well, and the other not at all.
